GCSE Sample Papers

  • GCSE Sample Papers . . . two complete papers for each of the three exam boards. Can be used as complete `mock` exams.
  • All papers are based on the layout, format and mark schemes used by the exam boards in their Specimen Papers for the new specifications.
  • This publication is available only in CD format. The CD includes all the tracks in standard `CD player` audio format plus the question papers and mark schemes in .doc (Microsoft Word) format plus the audio tracks in mpeg (iTunes + Quicktime) computer file format.
  • The use of `Word` rather than Adobe Acrobat .pdf format in this publication allows you to edit questions and customise them to your own requirements, should you wish to do so.
  • The purchase price (£45.00) includes a site copying and printing license. The computer files can be installed on a network and / or multiple stand-alone computers and the question sheets can be printed out as you require . . . so no need for student workbooks.
  • Please click on the specimen page thumbnails below to see full sized pages.

AQA papers

Some specimen AQA question pages from GCSE Sample Papers.

All five Areas of Study are covered and all questions are related to one of the three `strands`. (Note that you will need to obtain your own copies of two tracks: `She Loves You` by The Beatles and `Stairway To Heaven` by Led Zeppelin, as we were not able to secure permissions. Both tracks are identified in the AQA suggested listening lists.)

Full mark schemes presented in the format used by AQA in their Specimen Paper.

EDEXCEL papers

Some specimen EDEXCEL question pages from GCSE Sample Papers.

Please note that it has not been possible to secure copyright permissions for all tracks. You will need to use your own copies of Capercaillie, Moby, Buckley and Koko. Exact track timings for these questions are included in the Teachers` Pack or you might prefer to use the `official` EDEXCEL recordings for all questions. (Note that Section B questions do not require CD tracks.)

Full mark schemes presented in the format used by EDEXCEL in their Specimen Paper.

OCR papers

Some specimen OCR question pages from GCSE Sample Papers.

All three relevant Areas of Study (2, 3 and 4) are covered and all questions are related to the genres specified in the new syllabus.

Full mark schemes presented in the format used by OCR in their Specimen Paper.
