Index / Contents of AQA Units 4 / 5.

Pages 3 - 33:

Questions based on the format used in the AQA Specimen Paper for Unit 4 - Section A: Listening. There are 10 complete papers (three sets of questions for each paper) with the appropriate 61 tracks on CD.

Three questions from different papers - the layout of the three different types of question is the same as the AQA Specimen Paper.

Pages 35 - 47:

These pages show some examples of the exercises for the `Bach Chorale` and `Classical String Quartet` Unit 5 - Brief A: Compositional Techniques questions. There are 20 exercises, graded in difficulty, for each of the two prescribed Compositional Techniques. (See page 2 of index above.)

These exercises are published on the CD as `Sibelius` files, so that students can both see and hear their work as they complete the exercises.

Here is one of the `Bach Chorale` pages. These are not just a set of exercises to be worked, but are intended to form a progressive series of study, covering the salient and characteristic features of the style.

All exercises are also supplied as MIDI files (for use on music software other than `Sibelius`) and as pdf (`Adobe Acrobat`) and tiff (graphics) files for printing.

Here is one of the exercises from the `Classical String Quartet` series. Included on the CD are the composers` original full scores for the Classical String Quartet exercises and Riemenschneider numbers are provided for the Bach Chorale exercises.

A full mark scheme is provided in the Teachers` Pack for the Unit 4 Listening questions.
